We are not regular 'travel agents' per se, rather travel designers and coordinators.
We design for the independent traveller a journey to best use your available time, allowing you to savour the real countryside, not just to skim over the surface. A lot of the places which will be mentioned in your detailed itinerary are well off the beaten track - locals are often amazed at the extent of our knowledge of their areas!
To help you to optimise your well-earned rest, the itineraries are so much more than a list of bookings and dates. For example, specific days and even times are suggested to visit particular places, taking into account opening hours, market days, national holidays, local customs & expectations etc. The inclusions are based on the interests you have indicated, and obviously, you adapt our suggestions to suit your mood, energy levels and weather conditions. Cars, trains, accommodation are combined into a personalised travel package with nearly everything other than meals being pre-paid.
Your total package outlay varies according to the number of people travelling, length of the journey and the complexity of your itinerary but you will always get excellent value for money.
On the escorted tours, your group will be guided by experienced tour facilitators and for some tours you will even have a chef travelling with you cooking the fresh products from the market. These are all active holidays helping to counteract the effects of the local indulgences!!! Refer to the schedule for the tours planned for 2011.
Our detailed itineraries provide options for cyclists or walkers who wish to cover more ground. You will be given large-scale maps before setting off if you want to do additional exploring and you can adjust the pace to your own level.
Luggage transfer is organised in the mothership van, which is also available for transporting purchases, picnic fodder and any tired bodies. (The less active are welcome to travel in the van on a daily basis). And because we don’t move to different accommodation every night, you get the chance to mingle with the locals (perhaps even do some laundry!)
